Tomato - Sunsugar
The Tomato Sunsugar, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum', produces beautiful golden cherry tomatos with very sweet taste. They have good crack resistance, but they still retain a thin skin. The tall growing plants set loads of golden fruits filled with sweetness and Vitamin A, four times the amout in the usual red tomato. This delicious yellow cherry tomato is not only the best tasting cherry tomato ever, but it is also an excellent source of beta-carotene which is converted to vitamin A in your body. You will need to to tie and stake this prolific plant. Tomatoes should be planted outside after the last average frost date. In warm winter/hot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. Cuphea - Allyson The Cuphea Allyson, 'Cuphea rosea', is a plant that is used in containers that has purple flowers and green foilage. Allyson can be used as a landscape or ornamental plant. They produce masses of purple flowers from spring through fall. Summers heat will not stop these unique flowers. In warm climates it is an ever blooming perennial. Place them in well drained soil and then look for Hummingbirds as they begin to flower. Pinching in early summer will promote branching. This plant can also be a perennial in warmer zones.
