The Thornless Cockspur Hawthorn, Crataegus crus-galli 'inermis', is a small, thornless tree with beautiful, single white flowers, abundant red fruit and silver-gray bark. The fruits are a bright red and are produced in masses, which provides excellent color in late summer and early fall. The glossy green foliage turns a showy orange in fall. This tree has a rounded growth habit and is very disease resistant. No major insect problems and resistance to rust diseases. The bark is exfoliates in thin gray strips, and provides winter interest.
