The Waltham Butternut has vigorous vines, long storage capability, and a tasty nutty flavor to mention a few. Nothing beats the rich, sweet, flavor of winter squash. The Waltham Butternut is particularly exciting because the solid stems that resist boring type insects and the nutty flavor with the wonderful flesh texture. The Waltam is the most popular butternut grown. The Waltham squash has smooth skin and is light tan in color with a round bottom and a big thick neck.
