Dakota Goldrush® Potentilla, Potentilla fruticosa 'Absaraka', is a hardy selection with deep yellow flowers and dark green foliage. The dwarf growth habit and flowers that bloom profusely from early summer to late fall combine to create a beautiful plant for the landscape. The flowers are profuse, yellow-gold and 1 to 1 ˝ inches across. Dakota Goldrush® continues to flower until killing frosts occur. This cultivar is similar to the cultivar ‘Jackmanii’, but is more dwarf and flowers more profusely at the end of the season. This compact shrub will mature at 2 to 4 feet tall with a spread of 4 feet. Potentilla is a deciduous shrub that does best in full sun and will flower all summer if trimmed in late June or July. You can plant it with the assurance that it will live. It requires little, if no care once established. It is compact and free flowering.
