Phlox - White Flame
The Phlox White Flame, 'Phlox paniculata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of huge, white, pristine flowers and a thick mat of foliage. ‘White Flame’ is a new variety with variegated foliage and a pinkish tinge near the tips or the leaves. Blooming from April to May, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”. It is a definite addition to any perennial garden. ‘White Flame’ needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. Hollyhock - Nigra (The darkest flower in this family). The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature (4-6') and is biennial in nature. Although they are short lived, they reseed themselves. The large blooms of 'Chater's Nigra Hollyhock' flower in the summer months. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences. They are best planted in full sun in a well-drained area.
