Lobelia - Monet Moment
The Lobelia Monet Moment, 'Lobelia', also known as Cardinal Flower, has unique, large masses of rose pink spiked flowers with burgundy foliage. Blooming from summer into early fall, 'Monet Moment' has a plant height of 36' and a spread of 12-18". 'Monet Moment' needs to be planted in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade. It does prefer moist soil but should be planted in a well-drained area. 'Monet Moment' attracts hummingbirds and butterflies and looks great in mass plantings, in any perennial garden. Hollyhock - Chater's Red The Chater's Red Hollyhock, 'Alcea rosea', has a large ruffled ball-shaped red flower. The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature (4-6') and is biennial in nature. Although they are short lived, they reseed themselves. The large blooms of 'Chater's Mix Hollyhock' flower in the summer months. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences. They are best planted in full sun in a well-drained area.
