The Licorice, Splash, 'Helichrysum petiolare', has foliage that is an evenly variegated pale green and white. This plant will let you do a little to get a lot. Licorice plants are exceptionally easy to grow, requiring little fertilizer. The Splash Licorice is a bushy but compact grower. This plant is an excellent choice for hanging baskets or mixed containers. It's especially useful in mixed containers as it tends to grow outward which makes a planter or basket look larger. Licorice do best in a well drained soil, either in beds or containers. Splash Licorice produces small flowers that are insignificant and can be removed. Sweet Bell Peppers - Bell Boy It is usually picked when green however the mature stage is red. The Bell Boy has very sturdy plants and is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often.
