Lantana - Patriot Firewagon
The Lantana Patriot Firewagon, 'Lantana "Patriot" Firewagon', is an annual shrub like plant that will produce beautiful bright red, orange and yellow flowers. Lantana is an excellent choice for beds or containers. The Firewagon Lantana has attractive foliage and the foliage is topped with vividly colored flowers. The brightly colored flowers of Lantana are excellent for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant Lantanas in full sun and well drained soil in either beds or containers. Lantana prefers moist soil, but is drought tolerant. Pinch off spent flowers to promote new flower growth. All Lantana's contain a toxin that if ingested may cause stomach discomfort. Some contact with foliage may irritate sensitive skin. The Lantana is also commonly called a Shrub Verbena. Hot Peppers - Caribbean Red Hot The Hot Pepper Caribbean Red Hot, 'Capsicum annuum' , is even hotter than Habanero! The extremely hot, wrinkled fruit tapers to a blunt point. The Caribbean Red Hot ripens to a beautiful deep red and has the same distinctive taste of the Habanero. The plants grow up to 30 inches tall and the fruit packs mega heat. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Use gloves and do not touch any other part of the body after harvesting.
