Sweet Bell Peppers - Better Belle F1 The Sweet Bell Pepper Better Belle F1, 'Capsicum annuum', is an early great-tasting variety with very blocky and thick-walled four-lobed peppers. Beter Belles are alsoTobacco Mosaic tolerant. This 1 1/2'-2' tall bushy plant requires little care. For best results, make sure the ground does not dry out. Stuff these peppers with meat and/or cheese mixtures, chop fresh for salads, slice for toppings. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often.
