Hosta - Royal Standard
The Hosta ‘Royal Standard’ is a vigorous, large Hosta with dark green leaves, making this variety very striking. The light lavender fragrant flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 18” and a spread of 36-48”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Clematis - Ernest Markham The Clematis ‘Ernest Markham’, Viticella x group, has dark red, magenta blooms that flower in July and range in height of 12-15’ and has a spread of 3’. The red flowers are approximately 4-6” wide. The foliage is dark green and makes a great contrast with the flower color. It is best to avoid heavy pruning on this perennial until it is fully established. Clematis ‘Ernest Markhams’ need a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs. It is best to heavily mulch the root zone to provide this cool, shady area.
