Fuchsia - Autumnale
The Fuchsia Autumnale, 'Fuchsia hybrid', is a early blooming Fuschia with exceptional uniformity and compact growth. The red sepal/purple corolla flowers perch on a splendid trailing Fuschsia distinquished by pure gold leaves flushed with purple and orange. This Proven Selections plant blooms all summer long. They are great plants for greenhouses, window boxes, baskets, homes, and flower beds. Fuchsias should be planted in warm, sheltered spots in well-drained soil. These plants have dark green leaves often with red stems. The flowers, which are produced during the summer and early fall, are droopy and come in many colors. Fuschia is one of the Hummingbirds favorite flowers. Fuchsias do not like to dry out. Keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. Daisy - Springstar Mira The Daisy Springstar Mira, 'Osteospermum ecklonis', was bred by Kientzler of Germany. The Springstar varieties are great for early cropping and all have a compact habit and are early flowering. The Springstar Mira, a Proven Selections plant, produces beautiful deep magenta flowers. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. Daisy's may be used as a cut flower and they are excellent in window boxes, pots, and rock gardens. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. The deeply cut, dark green leaves are aromatic when bruised. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial.
