The Evening Primrose Sunset Boulevard, 'Oenothera versicolour', ia a new Oenothera unlike any other. The large, 4” orange and red blooms turn apricot and red and are complimented by its rich green foliage. It has a plant height of 24” and a spread of 36-48”. ‘Sunset Boulevard’ will flower its first year, June to August and is best grown as an annual. Oenothera requires full sun and needs a good drainage site. Try planting ‘Sunset Boulevard’ with Salvia, Achillea or Columbine. Jacobs Ladder - Brise dAnjou The Polemonium ‘Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder’, Polemonium caeruleum, has variegated, fern-like foliage and large, single, light violet-blue flowers. The light violet-blue flowers open to bright yellow, adding delightful charm to its foliage. ‘Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder’ blooms from June to July with a plant height of 18-24” and a spread of 10-12”. ‘Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder’ needs to be planted in a full shaded area but will tolerate some morning sun in a well-drained area. Do not allow it to dry out. Try planting with Hosta ‘Francee’ or Polemonium ‘Bressingham Purple’, in mass plantings, in rock gardens or in an elegant landscape. ‘Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder’ is attractive to bees and butterflies and easy to maintain.
