The Douglas Fir tree, Pseudotsuga menziessi glauca, is a splendid pyramidal evergreen. It has many common names such as, Interior fir, Rocky Mountain, Douglas-fir, Douglas, yellow or red spruce, Oregon pine,and Douglastree. Douglas Fir trees have dark green or blueish green needles. White Walnut The smaller branches tend to bend downwards and then turn up at the ends. The root system is composed of a number of wide-spreading laterals that grow to a considerable depth. Nuts resemble Black Walnut, but smaller, with an oily, spicy flavor. It makes a good shade tree.
