The Silky Dogwood, Cornus amomum, has attractive white, greenish-white or yellow flower clusters in the spring and blue and white fruit in the fall. This plant tolerates poorly drained soils. It is used for hedgerows, windbreaks and for stream bank erosion control. The fruits are bluish in color. Cotoneaster - Bearberry This rapid growing shrub prefers moist, well drained soil, but it is quite tolerant of a range of soil conditions. Small white flowers appear in the spring and some small red fruit will be produced in the fall. Bearberry is great as a ground cover and is a very easy plant to grow.
