Dianthus - Rubys Tuesday
The Dianthus 'Rubys Tuesday', Dianthus Hybrid, has flowers that are a deep red carnation with a sweet fragrance. Their very compact habit and free blooming nature make the 'Ruby Tuesday' Dianthus a stand out both in container gardens and perennial borders. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage gardens. Caladium - Fannie Munson The Caladium Fannie Munson, 'Caladium', has impressive bright pink foliage with green spotted edging. Its leaves can be almost translucent, making it less ideal for sunny locations because it will easily sunburn. It has a plant height of 16-18” and a spread of 12-18”. ‘Fannie Munson’ should be planted in part-shade and in a well-drained area. The colors are extremely showy from July to Frost. Try planting ‘Fannie Munson’ in containers for the patio, in window boxes or to brighten up you perennial garden.
