Evening Primrose- Missouri Primrose The Evening Primrose 'Missouri Primrose', 'Oenothera 'Missouri Evening Primrose', is a Missouri native plant found on limestone glades and rocky prairies in the Ozark region. The beautiful canary yellow flowers add great color in any perennial garden and will bloom from May to August. This easily grown Oenothera should be planted in full sun and a well-drained area. With a plant height of 9-12" and a spread of 12-18", the mildly fragrant flowers open for only one day, usually late afternoon but will last until the following morning.
