Coleus - Splash



The Coleus Splash, 'Coleus hybrid', has bright green to light chartreuse foliage that is liberally splashed and splattered with rich purple. These new, bigger, sun loving varieties have revolutionized contanier gardening. The brilliant colors explode in sunny locations. Coleus plants are durable and easy to grow. The coleus plants are a tender perennials. Frost will cause them to die immediately. Coleus plants are so colorful that many people keep them and use them as a house plant. These plants will do best in temperatures above 55 degrees. Flower buds should be pinched off as soon as they develop. If a coleus plant is allowed to seed, it has completed its life cycle and will die. Coleus must have good soil drainage. Poorly drained soils and excessive watering will damage coleus. Plants suffering from "wet feet" will be stunted, leaves will turn a muddy brown, and leaf margins will be scorched. For zones 10-11, this plant can also be a perennial. ... more

 


Calibrachoa - Superbells ® Trailing Blue Calibrachoa is very similar to a minature Petunia. This vigorous fast growing plant produces hundreds of vividly colored blue flowers that bloom from spring until first frost. Calibrachoa Superbells are easy to grow. Superbells can be grown in patio pots, window boxes and in beds. Calibrachoa are popular for hanging baskets because of their cascading habit. Superbells are self cleaning, you do not have to pinch off spent flowers. Superbells Calibrachoa is more heat resistant than most of the Calibrachoas. It can take the heat of hot southern summers making it a good replacement for petunias, and they can be perennial in zones 7 and warmer. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial.
