Cauliflower - Brocoverde
The Cauliflower Brocoverde, 'Brassica oleracea', is a very sweet tasting cauliflower that deserves a place in your garden. If you like cauliflower, then try this new, green variety. The taste is quite sweet, and Brocoverde takes the spring heat better than regular cauliflower, thus making spring plantings more successful in northern climates. Either raw or lightly steamed, you will love the flavor of Brocoverde. The Brocoverde are a green headed, semi-domed cauliflower with 1 pound heads. Plant in the early spring, 1 to 2 weeks before the last frost or late summer, 12 weeks before the first frost for fall harvest. Pepper - Sweet - Pimiento The Pimiento is excellent for stuffing or pickling and fresh in salads. This pepper provides the familiar red "plug" in green olives. Pimiento peppers are excellent pickled and delicious when used for stuffed appetizers. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often.
