Boxwood - Green Velvet
The Boxwood 'Green Velvet, Buxus 'Green Velvet', also known as Boxwood, is a slow growing broadleaf evergreen that requires little care. With a plant height of 2-3' and a spread of 3', it does add color and texture to the landscape. Plant 'Green Velvet' in full shade to part sun, in a well-drained area. Boxwoods are tolerant of pruning and shearing, but avoid cultivating around this plant because they have very shallow roots. Remove dead and damaged branches annually to improve the air circulation. Cotoneaster - Bearberry The Cotoneaster Bearberry, 'Cotoneaster dammeri', is a dark green, evergreen shrub with glossy leaves. This rapid growing shrub prefers moist, well drained soil, but it is quite tolerant of a range of soil conditions. Small white flowers appear in the spring and some small red fruit will be produced in the fall. Bearberry is great as a ground cover and is a very easy plant to grow. The foliage will turn a dull dark green to reddish purple in winter.
