Bergenia - Bressingham Ruby
The Bergenia ‘Bressingham Ruby’, a Blooms of Bressingham plant, also known at Bergenia Pigsqueak or Heartleaf, is a popular ground cover that is great for weed-smothering. Being a vigorous spreader, it is great in rock gardens or as a border plant. The paddle-shaped leaves turn burgundy in cold weather with short clusters of pink flowers on stout stems. The deep rosy-red flowers show from mid to late spring and are a great contrast with its foliage. Bergenia ‘Bressingham Ruby’ should be planted in full shade, but will tolerate some morning sun. It has a plant height of 14” and a spread of 12” wide. Try planting Bergenia ‘Bressingham Ruby’ with Japanese Painted Fern or Pulmonairia ‘Mrs. Moon’. It is definitely a perennial that should not be left out of any garden. ... details
