Ajuga - Black Scallop
The Ajuga, 'Black Scallop', Ajuga reptans 'Black', has 'dark as night' foliage with gorgeously scalloped leaves. Black Scallops are a knock out in patio pots, combos, and as a striking accent with white, gold or light-colored plants. The very dark and glossy scalloped foliage, are larger than 'Mahogany' and darker than 'Catlin's Giant'. It displays deep blue flower spikes. It is suitable for full sun or shade. Peony - Red The Red Peony, Paeonia lactiflora. Peonies are one of the best cut flowers and are often used in the Midwest to decorate gravesites on Memorial Day. Peonies can handle dry to moist sites, and do best in full sun but can handle some light shade. Our red peony is a very dark flowering selection. It is really a nice contrast when planted with the white peony. It is not uncommon to see peonies planted along the driveway or lane in a mass.
